Bad Timing | A Poem

Bad Timing

Her honest feelings
pair well with bad timing
like treacherous storms
and silvery lining

"The timings not right"
they've all said it before
clocks begin ticking
once she walks out the door

She cannot blame those
who left without warning
she flies like a bomb
on July's fourth morning

A lesson was learned
that followed her blindness
time doesn't matter
the right one is timeless

Ruth | A Poem

Ruth

The truth about Ruth, is she pushes away
Secretly thinking, "I wish you would stay"
Self covered in armor
in fear they might harm her

The truth about Ruth, is her heart had been devastated
What she thought was gold, was only gold plated
Abdicated her throne
but she should have known

The truth about Ruth, is she wanted to trust
But each time that she tried, they drowned her in lust
"Am I worth sticking around for?"
she'd never be sure

The truth about Ruth, she started to fear
Is that no one she knew could ever get near
For most of her problems began as her own
a lot might be different if she would have known
